Who Said Red And Green Don’t Mix?
Photograph copyright: DAVID McMAHON
Denbigh Road in Armadale is not a long street, but it is blessed with stunning foliage at this time of the year. In late fall and early winter, the trees are a riot of colour. I took a couple of long shots of the street a few days ago, but as I was walking back to my car, I noticed this sight. These leaves were – unusually – just ankle-high at the base of a tree.

I thought it was 'blue and green should never be seen'.
I quite like red and green. Of all the seasons, I miss autumn the most. Bursting with colour!!! We just have wet and dry and hot hot hot here.
Who said red and green don't mix? Christmas might be purple and yellow if it weren't for red and green.
David,
Sounds good. I’ve added you to my blogroll.
I like the autumn picture. I have a few autumn photos in the slideshow on my blog as well.

Hi Steph,
That actually has a familiar ring to it, now that you've mentioned it.
But that would mean no misteltoe!
You are so right - autumn here is quite a season. Cool start to the day here - it was 4 Celsius in the burbs and 5 in the CBD.
Bewdiful!

Hi there Bart-Man,
Ah, yes, good point. Like I said to Steph (above) that means no misteltoe.
Purple and yellow Christmas? Er, no!

Hi Luke,
Just about to add you to my blogroll. Will take a look at your autumn shots as well.

Just simply beautiful. Nature is, don't you think?
Grandad says that!
-"Red and green should never be seen, red and blue will not do."
Hmmm...
Well finally rounded up enough cash for that Nikon D80. Once I get going I'll set up a photo blog and post some of my silly pics there
Thanks for your last comments on my blog.
I have search for your book on Amazon.fr, but your book is not on stock. Tell me more about it.

Hi Papoosue,
Could not agree with you more. That's absolutely spot-on.
I was brought up with a great appreciation of nature - as you can probably tell, by some of my photographs.

Hi BTBear,
That's the rhyme - I just couldn't think of what it was, exactly.
Tell Grandad thanks very much for refreshing my memory.

Hi HB,
Good to hear. I’m looking forward to your photographs. Hope you have as much fun with your camera as I do while using mine.
A very good friend of mine uses the same camera and you can see his work at www.nirmalghosh.com
He reckons the camera is a beauty.
Cheers
David
Hi Laurent,
Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment. I hope your birthday present is still proudly displayed at work!
I must say I’ve been enjoying your blog. I’ll certainly visit every day.
About the novel – a friend of mine bought it on Amazon recently, while blogger BTBear bought it at Linux Bazar and a couple of others bought it off the Oxford Book Store website. I wrote a post called ``Shun Sign’’ at http://david-mcmahon.blogspot.com/2007/04/shun-sign_23.html some weeks ago - and that post had a link to the Oxford Book Store site, where the book can be purchased.
It is also available at http://www.penguinbooksindia.com/ as Penguin India published the book.
Looking forward to more of your work on your blog.
Cheers
David
