D'ya Reckon This Could Be Charlotte's Church?
Photograph copyright: DAVID McMAHON
This shadow looks as though it has been cast by some towering cathedral with an immense spire. But it's just a quirky combination of mid-morning light and architecture. There is a pyramid-shaped piece of masonry on the building on the right of this picture. It's not even a couple of metres high, but when the sun is at a certain height, it casts the shadow of the masonry on the triangular, opaque blue glass ceiling on the left. Regular readers would recall that a few weeks ago I posted Darth Invader with a couple of photographs evoking one of the most memorable villains in movie history.

Neat. I love shadows. I have some pictures somewhere where I inadvertently made shadow art. I was only trying to capture Elmo at play outside, but wasn't paying attention that I was between him and the sun.
Oh, I ordered that camera. I found a refurb for a pretty good price, and I had some extra cash from selling my old guitar effects. So as sort of a congratulatory pat on my back (I'm now a state employee, hooray!) I took the proverbial plunge. I'll let you know what I think once I play around with it.
Spooky. Like it's a ghost church.
Hi Bart-Man,
I'm really keen to see the shadow art pictures.
Great news about the camera. Take your time, enjoy experimentng - and I look forward to seeing the results.
Cheers
David
