A West Yorkshire grandmother has sold the best seat in front of her TV on eBay for Christmas - to avoid family rows. With 25 guests expected to descend on her house on Boxing Day, she decided to place the seat on auction – and she has even offered to throw in a free cushion for those with aching backs.

Never Too Old For Facebook
That’s A Mighty Long Profile
A British great-grandmother has become the oldest person on Facebook. 102-year-old Ivy Bean’s online profile was set up by staff at the care home where she lives. The former mill worker, from West Yorkshire, now uses it to keep in touch with friends and family but said, "At 102 I have a lot to put on about myself".
