Go For Technorati's Figure Of Authority

I've just explained this to a fellow blogger and thought it would make a timely post as well.

What is the new Technorati Authority system and how does it apply to my blog?

On Friday May 4, Technorati.com introduced the Technorati Authority for listed blogs. The Technorati Authority number (shown in green) is simply the number of blogs linking to a website in the past six months. As Dorion Carroll explained in his post Technorati Authority and Rank on Saturday May 5, ``The higher the number, the more Technorati Authority the blog has''.

He also highlights an important consideration in this regard: ``It is important to note that we measure the number of blogs, rather than the number of links. So, if a blog links to your blog many times, it still only counts as +1 toward your authority. Of course, new links mean the +1 will last another 180 days.''
