Verse And Worse

Random Wit, Errant Rhyme. Not A Literary Crime

He stole a convertible but the getaway was fleeting
He had a flat tyre so he rang his twin, Steve
Then he remembered the spare jack up his sleeve

Hi–Ho, Sylvia, Away

The Lone Arranger

My good friend and colleague Nancy Harper, a Canadian journalist and blogger and author-in-waiting (publishers, have a look at her blog – how could you resist her style?) is normally ultra-cool and unfazed. Except when it comes to buying a convertible. She is a woman of great taste and judgement (proof: she describes me on her blog as her ``bestselling blog guru’’) but even she has her occasional failings. She was so not in control of her emotions when she recently bought a silver Saab, and she describes it in very amusing and self-deprecating style at Travellin’ Mama.

FOOTNOTE: For an entertaining writer, she’s hopeless at poker.
