This picture was taken recently at Southbank, Melbourne. I was actually photographing a ferry on the Yarra River when I noticed a dozen or so seagulls on this railing near the water's edge. Since I was shooting with the Pentax K100 and I had the 18-125 lens, I walked to within about three metres of the gulls and then zoomed in. I shot one or two frames and then this gull swivelled and decided to give his wings a bit of a stretch. It's an interesting shot, because the perspective of the frame actually shows just how impressive a wingspan really is.
