The Pipes, The Pipes Are Calling

Please Release Me, Let Me Go

Police in Dorset, Britain arrested a bagpipe-playing busker because he was "distressing" shoppers. The man was told his piping had annoyed members of the public. His bagpipes were seized as he was handcuffed and driven to a police station, although he was later released. He had been playing bagpipes for more than 25 years.

FOOTNOTE: Busk stop.

Was his playing that bad or were the shoppers just miserable? I love bagpipes - so festive at this time of year!

Bagpipes are best heard on a mountain side - preferably one several miles away.

Northumbrian pipes, though, are another matter.

Never been a fan of the bagpipes. Always sounded like a cat caught in a vacuum cleaner to me. But busting the guy's onions like that was a little over the top I think.

Some people just don't appreciate music. Personally, some day in the far future, I want bagpipes for my funeral--and mariachis, too.

OMG. No wonder he was detained. As if current pipe squeals weren't enough, he was using very old and probably even flatter notes. The English don't appreciate that, I'm told.

Why not an order to cease and desist instead of a trip to the jail? I think your news agent omitted part of this story.

Sounds like those people who complained need to get a life... and some culture!
Very sad.

Why don't they get on with catching real criminals and leave the piper alone.

Hahahaha! (er,sorry, trying to to look serious now)It could have been worse, my dear old Granda always rose at 5.30am to practice his bagpipes - IN THE HOUSE.
