The Sunday Roast

Embracing The Journey Of Life And Discovery

This week's interview is with Sandy Kessler,
who writes the blog Spiriti Felici.

The first of the standard questions. Why do you blog?

I blog because a few years back, I was stricken with cancer. Some days the pain is insurmountable. Illness forced me to leave my high school English teaching job so I had to switch my focus.

I blog because it affords me a discipline especially on poor days and I learn so much from all the other bloggers=Diversion. I have always been interested in others and fascinated by photography, nature, travel - Blogworld is my paradise !!!

What is the story behind your blog name?

Ibeati the blessed is truly how I feel - blessed and embracing all of life's journey every day . Spiritifelici - the happy spirit that's me ... I have had a variety of blog names over the two-plus years ... Sandy Shares, So Many Blessings in the same vein.

What is the best thing about being a blogger?

The best thing about being a blogger is the kindred spirits you meet. You just know that if you met them on the street or went to local gathering with them, you would be fast friends ... but here they are at your cyber fingertips in Norway, Australia, France, England, etc. I am truly grateful for this amazing progress in our world and am always urging others to blog !!!

What key advice would you give to a newbie blogger?

My advice to a newbie blogger would be to explore lots of blogs and links on people's blogs that you like. Build a fun community.

What is the most significant blog post you've ever read?

I have no particular significiant post as I honestly enjoy each day. I write about what I'm grateful for and things that make me laugh like my little dog who rides the big dog around the house, my flowers, my former students, my passions and windows on the world, mixed with a healthy dose of humor each day. Several days a week I like to send out hypothetical daily scenarios about what to do in certain situations- e. g. How to make time in a whirlwind schedule? Or when to meditate during the day or, or? I also offer contests fairly often.

What is the most significant blog post you've ever written?

I simply cannot name the most significant blog post I've ever read. They are usually tributes, heartfelt, coming from a place probably revealed only on paper - a loss of a parent, child, animal, tribute to a veteran. I am always amazed at how therapeutic and deeply moving blogging can be. Thank you for caring and sharing with me ...

Today's Sunday Roast with Sandy Kessler is the 46th in a weekly series of interviews with bloggers from around the world.

David,
What a nice interview with Sandy. I have visited her lbeati blog many times and always enjoyed reading her posts! She's is an inspiration to us all!
Thanks for sharing about your whiskey jack. Were you able to get rid of this little jay? I'm thinking that these two hawks who visit my yard ea day will eventually move on..as we are not seeing any evidence that they are being successful getting food from the feedrs...so I just have to find the patience to wait.

I am so thrilled you spotlighted Sandy of IBeati. She is one of my earliest blog friends (have been blogging since May of this year)
and what I adore about her, is her
openness and honesty. No holds barred! Her life is an open book!
Love her honesty, whimsy, wisdom,
love, and reflections. She one helluva lady! A great post!

Kindred Spirits: My number one reason to blog!

The blogworld is endlessly fascinating, and makes me feel so much more optimistic about the general state of humanity. So many wonderful writers and interesting thinkers and all-around creative types! I enjoyed your interview with the indomitable Sandy; and you are a good and generous host, too.

Sandy is such a wonderful and inspiring lady, always seeking the positive and minimising the bad. She's a great example of a generous and giving spirit, and a certainly a brilliant example to all of us.

Sunday is no longer Sunday David, without your Sunday roast.

I LOVE Sandy! She is such a great person. I am proud and thankful to call her a friend, and I hope that my friendship with her continues to grow for years to come.

Sandy and I have a little 'dream' - we'd love to own a huge ranch with acres and acres of land - where we would welcome all animals to be loved and safe.
