Whip Hand

Winner Was Making A Last-Ditch Stand

A British jockey is celebrating his first win - after 28 years in the saddle. Amateur Anthony Knott, famous for usually coming last, stunned everyone with a victory at Wincanton in Somerset. The dairy farmer stood in his saddle to wave to the crowd and was almost overtaken on the finishing line.

I heard about this, he announced his retirement immediately afterwards, wanting to quit whilst he was ahead. Sweet.
