Anime’s Next Top Supermodel
The world's first robot supermodel has made its catwalk debut during Tokyo Fashion Week. The £1.37m HRP-4C humanoid has battery-powered motors in her face to help her flash a smile, lower her eyelids and sashay along a catwalk. Its facial features were modelled on the wide-eyed characters popular in Japanese "anime" cartoons.
FOOTNOTE: Demure the merrier.

Well that takes care of weight fluctuation and aging! Hey, check out my cloud photos, taken with a cellphone camera!
I guess that makes it easier to always have perfectly fitted clothes!
This particular footnote has to be the most groan making ever...
thanks for visiting me from down under :)
Is her name 'Ann Droid' ?
I bet she feels like 2.1 million dollars and has loads of 'flex appeal'!
You mean the other super models are real?
I googled her on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--4N13FHqso . I think they have a way to go yet. LOL

Somehow modeling wasn't a career I ever thought would be displaced by automation.
And the robot model IS amazing!!!! I saw her on the nightly news here... Is this the Stepford Wife nightmare come true??? Such a horror theme we have going this week!!! :-)
Looks like the era of human supermodels are coming to an end. What next?
