The Sunday Roast

Big Investment In The i-Share Market

This week's interview is with Indrani,
who writes the blog i Share.

The first of the standard questions. Why do you blog?

I started blogging for my own pleasure and use this blogging medium to express myself. It is a great feeling to know you have an audience waiting to read you and your thoughts.

What's the story behind your blog name?

Initially I started recording my travel experiences with photographs I took and I named my blog 'Travel Recall'. Then I found myself writing whatever occurred to head and heart and I was actually sharing my feelings, thoughts and views. So 'Travel Recall' morphed into 'i Share.'

What is the best thing about being a blogger?

The best part of being a blogger is: blogging lets you be creative and lets you connect amazingly quickly. There is a sense of belonging, (I refer to the memes in particular). Blogging helped me connect to a lot of virtual friends; some of them have turned in to real life friends too, a friendship that I cherish and treasure, and hope to sustain.

What key advice would you give to a newbie blogger?

I am still in the learning stage myself. I feel one must be active in terms of posting, commenting and linking. Keep the posts small and simple, preferably dealing with a single topic, post photographs, but not too many of them like me. ;) Do not hurt others; neither by posts nor by comments.

What is the most significant blog post you've ever read?

Tough question, David. I keep reading so many blogs and learning so much, it is very difficult to single out one. Here, I would like to mention my friend, Swarna, who got me into blogging and opened up a whole new world for me.

What is the most significant blog post you've ever written?

This one made me go visiting all my posts. Many are mere expression of raw thoughts. I can list two entries rather close to my heart: Black Swan and Where Do Butterflies Go When It Rains.

Today's Sunday Roast with Indrani is the 62nd in a weekly series of interviews with bloggers from around the world.

Great choice of blogger - I feel that I have learnt a lot from Indrani's blog and I've only been following for a few weeks! Unfortunately for my bank balance and attempt to find an adult career, it's also strengthened my desire to travel to India!

Oh, I love her approach to blogging...and her photography is gorgeous...but for some reason, I couldn't get the second of her favorite posts,"Where do the butterflies go when it rains..." Perhaps, it is raining? A great roast, David! Thank you! So glad to know about this amazing blogger, and her beautiful work! Definitely a keeper!

She is a very nice blogger :)
I have learned a lot from her.
I know her not personally,
Unfortunately,
that distance is too far,
but it feels like a real friend ^___^

I agree with all your answers and your advice to all new bloggers to keep the post simple and short.Sometimes posts are so long and complicated that one doesn't know what to comment on.To be kind and helpful is also a very good advice. And what I like, when blogging, is: you answer all your commentors and visitors! That's what I certainly also will do always. Even if I had once 60 comments.

I love looking at her pics. She doesnt pretend to make her pics arty etc etc but shows them as they are.. a moment captured in time

I've loved Indrani's photography ever since I discovered her sometime last fall (I think). But I hadn't seen the two posts she mentions in this interview until now. I'm glad she chose them because they are in fact quite wonderful.
