Must Be An Outdated Picture

This Passport Has Taken Me Ages

A 109-year-old Macedonian woman is getting her first passport after it took decades for authorities to check how old she was. Maria Kostova, from the town of Shtip, was born on February 7, 1898, but no birth certificate was issued to her at the time. Local authorities lost their records of her birth and when she asked for a passport more than 20 years ago they said they would have to look for documentation. ``Now I just have to think of what holiday I can have so I can use it,'' she said.

And I thought that waiting for three weeks for mine was bad...

There isn't too much one could add to this, except thank God she didn't have to be anywhere in a hurry. Bless her, I hope she gets to see a bit of the world now, before the world isn't much to see

Where can she go on her new passport? At 109 I would have thought that a trip to the shops would be exhausting!

Poor gal. I hope she still enjoys the trip. I know of a man who toured the USA via train at 104.

I like her attitude because if she is trying to go somewhere it means she still wants to experience life and see the world, good for her. I hope I am still traveling when I am older.

A 109-year-old makes a good sucker for smuggling stuff across borders, wouldn't you think? who'd expect anything?

I imagine she had a destination in mind when she first applied but likely after all this time, she's forgotten...

I'd like to lose mine and replace it with one that makes me a decade younger...ah well.
