Morty the moose, who appeared at the beginning of the hit TV show `Northern Exposure', died in 1994, at age six, from an illness linked to cobalt and mineral deficencies.
long time ago, Mummy's elder brother lived with her.
One Christmas, he being a fan of said the MOOSE programme, she bought him a toy moose.
She carefully wrapped it up bit by bit, to look like a MOOSE. i.e. each bit of antler had a separate bit of wrapping paper, as did the rest of him. So he just looked like, well, a wallpapered MOOSE.
Uncle Dave (yes, really, that's his name) loved it so much he never unwrapped it.
He and the Wallpapered MOOSE (he was named PAPERMOOSE, for short) became close buddies.
Then, one day, he was gone.
No MOOSE.
They looked high and low, no MOOSE. Utterly MOOSE-less.
Time passed and Uncle Dave moved out. Then Mummy moved too. On the eve of her move she went through the entire house, still searching for the Wallpapered MOOSE.
It was never found.
To this day, it remains, The Unanswered Mystery Of PAPERMOOSE, The Disappearing Wallpapered MOOSE of Old Ingle Road.
Northern Exposure was a great show! My husband took a detour on a road trip in the Northwest so I could drive through "Cicely" in the real town of Roslyn, Washington. Very fun!
