This was shot at a large shopping mall in Long Island in June this year. The geometrical precision of the huge cupola above our heads had me standing there, looking upwards as though I were taking in some metallic equivalent of the Sistine Chapel. Oh well, you get my drift, right?
But I didn't just want a shot of the dome. So I found an angle from which I could include a tall indoor tree just to introduce an extra point of interest. Not an easy angle to shoot, but quite a rewarding one to look back on.

So agree with Brian about the tree giving it another perspective. Love your analogy of a metal Sistine Chapel.

Yes, the tree does add the extra point of interest. Nice. Reminds me of a photo I shot in a Paris department a couple of years ago. Mine is very colorful... I need to go back & look at it. It may become my next banner photo.

Yes, David I did locate my "mall" photo, although it was a Paris dept store ceiling, very colorful & is my blog banner photo from now until January! Thanks for giving me the idea.
I am sure that camera of yours constantly gets you into all sorts of trouble in public (for which we are all very grateful)..
I am glad you put the tree in the shot otherwise I would not have realized just how large that skylight is. It did surprise me though that you said it was inside instead of outside. My eyes are always playing tricks on me.
It is such a blessing that you are about to travel around so much like you do isn't it? The blessing of seeing how people do things differently around the world, I imagine it continually helps you to have the balanced perspective on life that you have.
