Look Down At The Ceiling

All Was Calm, All Was Bright

Photograph copyright: DAVID McMAHON

I've posted a few pointers to macro shooting in the last few days, but I guess this would have to be one of my favourite macro shots. I was at work when I noticed I could see an almost perfect reflection of the ceiling - in my teacup. In the high-resolution version of this shot you can actually see the pitted pattern of the ceiling panels, and even in this low-resolution version you can see the fluorescent lights clearly. Luckily there was water in my teacup, because the shot would not have worked with anything else except maybe black tea or black coffee.

Sorry you said what it was - it would have been a great puzzle.

Wow! Wow, wow, wow, wow!

I don't think that would work with black coffee (all I ever see a reflection of is my nose - adversely, the cat's whole face in the cup). That is such an incredible great shot, though!

I like the picture, but I have to confess that I thought the reflection was a window until I read that it was actually the fluorescent light!

Really neat photo, David. It is interesting and holds your interest but also puzzling enough to make you want to figure it out. Glad you told us it was water, I'd thought it was coffee. :)

Peace!

That is a really cool shot!

I should take more pictures, I usually shoot scenery shots when I am traveling cross country or go hiking.
