All That Glitters

I’m Forever Blowing Baubles

A new website allows ex-girlfriends and wives to on-sell unwanted gifts from former lovers. Ex-BoyfriendJewelry.com allows women to trade rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings and watches. There is also a section on the website entitled Gifts That Should Have Been Jewelry, where disappointed recipients can trade unwanted presents such as skimpy underwear and vacuum cleaners.

An idea whose time has come. The greed and ingenuity in being greedy of human beings never ceases to awe me. Wow.

What will they think of next? I hope none of your gifts are on there. (Just kidding but couldn't resist!)

Seriously weird idea, but I just had to go and have a little look all the same!

Great! Anything to get rid of that stuff and with green issues in mind it's better on another woman's arm, neck or finger than on the rubbish pile! (I keep wondering where those three engagement rings are, having thrown them away in a fit of temper.)

I think it is a resourceful idea but I have never had a gift from an ex worth trading, they always ended up in the trash.

Wish I had known about this site about a year ago ;)

Well. At least it is not going to waste. ???
I don't know. I guess I'm at a loss here.

Sounds like a good idea instead of just having it sit away in some forgotten part of a drawer.

There ya go. I guess it's an on-your-honor thing and nobody will double-check that the lapel pin didn't come from some out-of-date relative!

I don't blame these ladies for getting rid of their "ex"traneous jewellery, no matter how "ex"quisite it may be.

All the gold in California ISN'T in a bank in the middle of Beverly Hills in somebody else's name -- it's on the finger of all the Beverly Hills ex-wives .....

What a shame you can't trade your ex's on there ... just the jewellery? I'd just adore reading all the warnings that went with them.

I think this is so sad. I have gifts still from ex-lovers, I wouldn't dream of trading them (even from the lying, cheating rat who trashed my heart). At the time I received them in good faith, proof of happy times together, regardless of how badly things may have eventually panned out.

ps. I always returned the engagements rings though..

Love it! They would probably get more on ebay however and no-one would need know the history.

Interesting blog David. I'll be back!
