Scrap Mettle

Recline And Fall Of The British Empire

Police believe thieves stole "Reclining Figure", a £3 million Henry Moore sculpture - then melted it down and sold it for £1,500. In December 2005, it took thieves only 10 minutes using a stolen crane-equipped flatbed Mercedes truck to carry it away.

Was there no one about while they were doing this?
Probably the Police were catching speeding cars on the motorways.

Vandalism is bad enough, but to destroy a piece of art ... there's a special place in hell I'm sure for such!
