Verse And Worse

Random Wit, Errant Rhyme. Not A Literary Crime

Frenzied Romans and countrymen, lend me your ears
I come not to drink wine, nor to hear you say "Cheers"
I’ll drive down to Tuscany and we’ll quaff some Chianti
Then we’ll visit your siblings and greet uncle and antie

Romans or anyone: I’m here for the wine:
I’ll drink from the bottle, don’t need a stein.
Chianti is sufficient or any other vine;
Let’s toast the evening after we dine.

All this verse so alcoholic,
Makes me feel quite melancholic.
You're not preaching to the converted.
Wine makes me feel quite introverted!

Not poetic tonight
I care not to fright-
en my friends from afar
or drink in a bar.

I'm off to Tuscany in October. Can't wait. I'll raise a glass to you, David.

I wonder if you'd be kind enough to email amazon.com and enquire why Cut Short isn't available until October although it's published in June...

But of course this should receive a toast from me...
