Verse And Worse

Random Wit, Errant Rhyme. Not A Literary Crime

Mammon to right of them, Mammon to left of them
Volleyed and thundered with sackings and pay cuts
Into the valley of debt rode the six hundred
Their lifetysles eroded, their careers plund'red

(Apologies to Lord Tennyson's "Charge Of The Light Brigade")

If this weren't so true, it would be funny...unfortunately it's too true and too sad

Hmmmm very apt I'm afraid.

Why did the banker walk into Macdonalds?

Because he worked there.

Over here you can probably add a few MP's to that joke.

Oh, I like this one, David! As Sandi says, it is too true to be funny, but you made a good poetic observation in the tradition of a poet laurette. Well done!

Got two new posts up at my place. Nothing great, but my evenings are free now and I'm back to blogging again. :-)

Cheers!

Hmmmm...I'm thinking that Five Hundred might make better sense, and a fun play off the Fortune 500 of today. LOL

And made a bid for Parliament.
Where he did his best, to feather his nest,
In total self-serving em-ploy-ment.
