Post Of The Day

Today's Emmy, er, Post Of The Day award goes to Gene Bach for his poignant post Leaving For My Dad’s Memorial Service, a marvellous tribute to a very special person in his life. And the other contenders were Queen of Dysfunction's What a Long, Strange Trip It’s Been, TLP's Entropy, My Utopia's tribute to her mother, Happy birthday, Mom, Vic Grace's thought-provoking Have You Ever Been Called A Silly Goose? and Brian In Oxford's wry Is The Genesis Concert Next Weekend?

Interesting. Unusual post but interesting as well.

I just began a new site about Japan in the early 1950s when we were there. You can get to it from my Brookville daily photo blog. Times have changed a lot there too over the 50-plus years since we were there.

Thanks again David.

I am taking a leaf out of your blog, in that I am starting to run a conversation on the comments as you do. Do you also contact everyone who leaves a comment.

Hi Vic,

No worries at all. Yes, I try and reply to every single comment.

It brings an extra element of rapport that says a lot about old-fashioned communication.

When my Mum received a letter, she would reply to it immediately. I guess I inherited that!
