Turn The Other Chic

Simply Open-Mouthed With Admiration

Photgraphs copyright: DAVID McMAHON

When I was growing up in India, fairgrounds were all about fairy floss and games of skill. Now that I've lived in Australia for twenty years, I reckon one of the most enduring favourites for children is the Clown Game. The clown's head rotates about 120 degrees, from left to right, and the aim is to drop a series of table tennis balls through its open mouth, to try and get them into a series of numbered slots. Prizes are determined by the total.

FOOTNOTE: So where d’ya keep the clown jewels?

Great shots. The first of "amazement" and the second of the series of clowns. Great color and detail.

Would you believe it if I told you that I had never heard of that clown game? (I grew up in deeeep country, after all. *g*)
The photos are stunning, if a bit eerie. I don't know why they make me think of Hitchcock type movies. Halloween closing in?

Goodness, I've never seen anything quite like that before. Makes North American carnivals look rather dreary.

Those are rather frightening looking clowns!

Is fairy floss cotton candy?

clowns.....

**shudders**

Creepy.......

LOL, ever since Pennywise I have never been able to look at a clown the same way again.

After a small break, I have finally decided to post again! I actually revamped a post I did over a year ago, when no one read my blog.
What is that you say? No one reads it now?
Hmmmm..... :))

Please David, do not send in the clowns again!!!

So, how do you get the tennis balls in the clowns mouth? Are they thrown? Sounds like a cool game.

*shudders* I'm not a fan of clowns, I find them a bit scary.

I do love the colors in your photos, and the game would be fun to try. I have to say I have never heard of this game.
