Wrap Music

Mum's The Word, But Dad's The Star (For Today)

Photograph copyright: DAVID McMAHON

You know how everything here in Australia is out of synch with the rest of the world? Well, yesterday (Saturday) was the first day of our spring and it could not have been more glorious. We drove down to the Mornington Peninsula and the sunshine was just brilliant. And even though the rest of the world has already celebrated Fathers' Day, it's being observed today (Sunday) in Oz. As you can see by the remnants of the gift wrap, I have been well spoilt.

Spoiled? Or deservingly rewarded?

Aww, that's nice. Happy Father's Day.

I wrote a post some time ago entitled 'No Father's Day' about boy's growing up without a male role model. That's why YOU are so very special David but I'm sure your family show you that on many occasions. :)

Hi Dot,

I get a lot of spoiling, not just on Fathers' Day, but evey day of the year.

But yes, today was very special - got treated like double royalty!

Thank you Allan,

You're such a good friend. I do like the phrase ``deservingly rewarded''.

Hi WFW,

Thank you very much for the warm wishes and all your support.

Have to check out that post of yours. I guess I was just very fortunate, to have lots of role models when I was growing up, so hopefully I have been able to emulate them in turn.

Thank you so much. Yes, my wife and kids do treat me like a very special person, so I am extremely blessed.

I am very lucky.

Keep smiling

Hi Carol,

Just got back from dinner at my favourite Italian restaurant. And yes, I have been well spoilt all day.

Matt even made me a New York cheesecake - all his own work. It was sensational.

Keep smiling

David

New York Cheesecake travels well, I see. :-)
I wish you that this Father's Day will be beginning of a very good year, looking forward to the next one.
Who will iron all this wrapping paper?
Duck and run,
M.
