Kosher Cola

Ham So Good, It's Been Bottled

It's not your everyday bottled flavour. Coming soon, next to the Coke and Pepsi in a store near you: ham-and latke-flavored soda to make your holiday feast complete. Jones Soda's Christmas Pack flavors are Sugar Plum, Egg Nog, Christmas Tree and Christmas Ham. It will even be kosher, the company making it says - including the ham. Jones Soda Co., the Seattle-based purveyor of offbeat fizzy water, is selling holiday-themed limited-edition packs of flavored sodas. The Christmas pack will feature such flavors as Sugar Plum, Christmas Tree, Egg Nog and Christmas Ham. The Hanukkah pack will have Jelly Doughnut, Apple Sauce, Chocolate Coins and Latkes sodas. A portion of the proceeds will be given to charity.

FOOTNOTE: Bucks fizz.

That is one of the most disgusting ideas I've ever heard

I certainly wouldn't be buying them - yuck!

Bad enough they come out with strange flavours for potato chips.

Alternate Footnote:

Rabbi arrested for drinking ham soda...as he was escorted into courthouse he exclaimed, "I thought it was the latke flavor!!!"

It's so odd that I'm reading this today...

Two years ago I picked up a Jones Cola Holiday Pack. The "flavors included Brussel Sprout Soda, a turkey and gravy flavor, a stuffing flavor, a pumpkin pie flavor, and cranberry flavored soda. I bought it for a White Elephant gift exchange. (Let me know if you're not familiar with what a White Elephant gift exchange is...)

Anyway, the following year the person who received my gift "re-gifted" it and put it back into the white elephant exchange.

Guess who ended up with it? Yours truly.

Last night we dug the box out and my younger brother (who has a cast iron stomach) decided that he would be the brave one who would sample the soda. I chose the Brussel Sprout flavor. He tried it.

*pause for dramatic effect*

He damn near vomited into the kitchen sink.

Those poor charities won't be getting much. Maybe we should just send them holiday cheques intead of trying to choke down that stuff.

When I was at university one of the beer companies introduced flavored beer: lemon, cherry, grape.
That was a miserable flop as well....

Well the Egg Nog doesn't sound too bad, but I can't imagine those others flavors. My sister just bought some Jones Creme Soda yesterday. I'll have to tell her about these!

I'm sure someone will buy them, can't say as how it would serve to tickle my taste-buds, but everyone to their own, eh?

Actually, chocolate soda sounds okay - carbonated tootsie rolls! I love the carbonated yogurt that Yoplait makes now.

I really wonder what Christmas Tree soda is, carbonated pine sol?

For halloween they had candy corn soda.

I have tried a couple of these. They make great gifts....but not for one's own consumption.
