Sing For Your Supper

Make Sure You Hit The Right Note

Photograph copyright: DAVID McMAHON

For photographers, a sight that has little effect on you in daylight hours suddenly takes on a completely different character in the dark. This sign outside a restaurant on City Road here in Melbourne is, well, just a sign on a concrete wall in daylight hours. But in the dark, under artificial lighting, it acquires a certain air of mystery. Is it the amber pool of light? Or is it the hint that a bloke called Tony might be sitting at the next table, waiting to shoot the next, er, scene?

I'd be careful to take corner tables and would't visit the gents without tucking some artillery into my waistband... nope, I think I'd stick to the curry house.

Hey David! You are right about that door sign. It does have a certain mystery around it because of the lighting effect. But you know what, come to think of it, everything gets a certain air of mystery at night :)

Have a great day, David!

Considering that at a place with a name like this they might shoot first, it was very brave of you to pull the trigger, er, press the shutter. *bang*

I wonder if such a spot would make me tremble at the treble of the soprano?
