Virtual Real Estate

$3.8 Million For A Genuine One-House Town

Someone in Italy placed the winning bid of $3.8 million for an unpopulated, one-house Texas town auctioned online. No one lives permanently in the 13-acre town of Albert, about 60 miles north of San Antonio, but the tavern created from the frame of the old general store is open on weekends. But before town owner Bobby Cave signs the deed over, he must ensure the eBay bid is legitimate. Cave said that unlike the usual items bought through eBay, there are no contractual obligations when it comes to real estate.

Hello and thank you for your recent visit to my blog. I appreciate your lovely comment in regards to my writing style, never really thought I was much of a writer so I appreciate that you took the time as you did to comment. I just enjoy blogging for the fun of it. I guess in a way... a blog is sort of like a vanity press..ha.
We get to say everything we want to and then some, and we never know who will read it.It is also a fun way to meet folks all over the world.
So..a great big "howdy" to you in Australia!
Stop by anytime you want to.
Hopefully my writing style will always be refreshing, and hopefully never boring.
Have a lovely week!

For some reason, if I had 3+ million I don't think I'd go this route! The adventures of our fellow man are always rather interesting, aren't they?

Wow. Buying real estate on ebay sounds risky.

There's a town in Michigan called Hell. Hell, MI. The only thing of permanent residence is a store that sells ice cream and T-shirts. It also sells Halloween decorations, but that is extremely seasonal.

Well! I live in San Antonio, TX and I'd never heard of this town so I went looking. It is in the middle of nowhere. There are some other historically significant towns near it. The closest thing that showed on the map was the National LBJ Historical Ranch (about 3 mi.). The next thing closest thing was the town of Luckenbach, TX, which was made famous by a song named after it and sung by Waylon Jennings (about 10 mi.). I'm thinking that 3.8 million is a lot for 13 acres as the price of land goes around here (4k - 40k) but the town has history so that's probably why it went for so high a price tag. Texans are a sentimental bunch. Here's the website for the community.

Peace!

Isn't this so interesting? I live very near this area, and I can tell you that many people enjoy living out 'in the country'.
I think this sale will open the door for some interesting sales in the future!
