The Mystery Of The Disappearing Birds
Puffins are to be fitted with satellite transmitters for the first time in an effort to understand a worrying decline in their numbers in the last five years. British scientists are to fit tiny GPS devices to the sea birds' legs to work out what is going wrong.

Maybe they are disappearing because they don't like the idea of the transmitters being stuck to them.
The puffins are going POOF? And they are such cute birds, sad to hear.
That'll teach me to slow down and read more closely. When I first heard about this I thought the Puffins were multiplying. E-gads. The news about Puff-in slump in population is a sad thought.
And if the transmitters disappear with the puffins nobody will ever know where they have gone!
