Bar, Bar, Black Sheep

Tell Your Fronds, Er, Friends About It

Photograph copyright: DAVID McMAHON

We were walking down a street in Kuala Lumpur last year, heading unerringly towards the Petronas Twin Towers, but I lagged about twenty or thirty metres behind the rest of the clan because I had to keep stopping to take photographs.

This was one of the reasons I had to stop. No, not to go into the bar. Just to take the photograph!

Are you sure that you didn't just peek your head round the door?!! ...

I love to shoot doors too, and blue are my favorite! Nice shots David.

Okay, I've heard of Ladies Night before but this is a whole new level of discrimination.

(I'd have to have at least stuck my head in to see what was so gender specific. I mean what do they DO in there??)

You should have gone in, research it for all your ladies out there.

I suspect that the sounds which surround you more often than not is something like "Step, step, step, click, click, click, click, click, step, step, click, click" etc... with the occasional "Come on, Dad!" thrown in for good measure. :)

"Bar" is the operative word here. The others are only suggestions as to who might accompany you. Love these pictures - you make me miss the strange life in Asia. This is a great addition to my blog roll....

Fringe benefits of having an eagle eye, David.

Oooh - a ladies bar!
So is that a bar full of ladies for the men patrons, or a bar for women only - like a men's club?

It makes a difference from a Gentlemans' club!

Interesting comments and how great that you had to "lag behind to take photos". Great for us anyway.

Somehow I suspect that it's not a place where ladies take afternoon tea, wear white cotton gloves and laugh refinely.

Any chance of sending your wife in on a fact finding visit?

You should have gone in after calculating the appropriate exposure risk to make sure the result was not over developed - otherwise the definition might be compromised!! It's all Eternally Distracted's fault for putting this idea into our heards! Naughty girl!!

I've done a little poem for you about the unpainted finger nails.
