Did you hear the saga of Raggedy Ann?
She was put in the wash and her colour ran
She was auctioned on eBay by her disappointed owner
And she was sold at a premium, for three thousand kroner

Tsk Tsk a used and abused Raggedy Ann.
Hi!
Thank you for your kind words on my blog Humble Gratitude...
Encouragement for teachers is so appreciated*
Thinking of Raggedy Ann makes me so nostalgic for the days of simple toys...
Only in science fiction could we imagine the "toys" of today!
All the best to you
~ Maria
you can find such nostalgia on ebay these days if you are willing to pay...
Hmm what is the current exchange rate I wonder!
Cheers
Save the toast with the scorched Madonna; someone will make you reach on ebay.
Annie was a doll, but she was nobody's fool.
Your colors might run, but if you keep your cool
You'll find yourself at the top of the pile
With loads of money and a winning smile!
Raggedy Ann's face went blue, red and green
She was washed by hand (we had no machine)
She was called Belinda (forerunner of Ann)
And was made by my Mum, (before the face ran.)
Thanks for reminding me about Belinda! In the days when children had nothing much but were truly grateful for anything received. (And we were better off by far, than many of the people that we rubbed shoulders with.)
LOL
I am afraid this tale I did not know
How lucky the value of Raggedy Ann did grow
To wash and clean must be the way
If I wish to make my fortune on Ebay....xv
aaah shame, hopefully she didn't turn green...
Poor little thing she was treated like s**t (excuse my language). All for a little inconvinient that is not even her fault, she should be loved exactly the way as she remained like. And I am indignated that they sold her for so little money, anyway the owner did not deserve to have her.
Depending on which country's kronur, that could be pretty expensive! (Or not.)
