Song Sung Brew

Every Garden Grows One

What's better than pizza and beer? How about pizza beer? Chicago-area real estate broker Tom Seefurth says he has created a pizza-flavoured beer. Seefurth brews beer and ale at his home in Campton Township. His pizza beer started as a brewing experiment. He added tomatoes, oregano, garlic and basil to one batch and calls the result Mamma Mia Pizza Beer. But do you ask for a pint or a slice?

Hi Steph,

Okay, I'm with you on this one. If you've had a pizza on Lygon Street, you'd know that it should be a stand-alone taste sensation.

Cheers

Even though this might offend Dan Mega:

Why am I not surprised that it comes from Chicago?

Sounds disgusting.

There really is no need to mix everything you like . . . enjoy the pizza then wash it down with beer.

I'd try the drink though, but only to make my argument stronger.

Hi Ak-Man,

I agree - they should never mix. And I don't think I'd be brave enough to try the brew!

Cheers

Anything (and I mean ANYTHING) has to be better than the beer I had a few years ago with a hot chili pepper at the bottom of the bottle.

If your pint doesn't have a big enough head on it, you could always sprinkle parmesan cheese on top.
