What A Ham-Fisted Approach
No, it's not one of the extras from the film "Babe". It's just a plastic piggy bank that a colleague keeps on her desk.
When confronted by a male chauvinist pig, what’s a bloke to do? I took the only option open to me. I reached for my camera and shot him - in the most humane way.
Would I focus on his snout? Naaaah. I decided to focus on his black, beady eyes, to show the reflection in each of them.
Maybe I should have adopted him. That would literally have been a case of bringing home the bacon.
Check out the rules at Camera Critters or go to Misty Dawn.

You? Photograph the obvious? In a pig's eye!
This little piggy went to market?
Ah! But did you put any cash through the slot in it's back?
Oh I LOVE little piggies! I am always reminded of Wilbur in Charlotte's Web :)
we are seeing rather tragic footage on your brushfires all the way over here....
Yes David, I know all about the feeling of wanting to shoot a pig ;-)
They're evil!
Although, I must admit... the one in your photo looks rather harmless. I don't think it would hurt too bad if that one ran me over.
Haa! Funny post!
He's just a sweet, adorable guy. And if he has any money he's even more attractive ;-)
Thanks for dropping into my little corner of the blog world! Any and all input would be greatly appreciated! This is the first time I have written anything it's been quite the learning experience, and so much fun learning and developing the characters! Hope you come back and read some more! French;)
very cute! hahhaa!
Very funny!
I love the joke and the piggy. LOL Thanks for making my day start off with fun!
That must have been an expensive photoshot. :) Oink Oink!
You probably could have "cured"him in your heat wave!!!Sandy
I'm never boared with your critters.
You could have shot him from the other end :)
I played too :)
cute piggy ^_^
My entry for CC this week : in HERE. Hope you have time to visit . Thanks
Great beady eyes.
Hope the brushfires aren't too close over there.
This really made me snort!
Hilarious!
Classic case of pork barrel spending.
Okay, it was weak, I know... but all the good ones were taken.
Come on now, don't pre-judge. Just because his nose is big and his eyes are beady, does it necessarily have to follow that he's a chauvinist? He might very well be a perfectly nice little pig.
With this economy a piggy bank is definitely a necessity. Is it the coffee fund?
Cute shot!
He looks like a curious little pig.
Squeak piggy, squeak! Now I would have just snapped it and not given a thought to eyes or nose; that's why you are a professional and I'm not.
David: What a fun capture, really entertaining.
So you were hamming it up with the camera....those eyes, I can see right into his soul.....
Poor piggy's wearing braces! ;-)
What a fun and playful picture! Hey, thanks for dropping by! I'm sich a big fan of Brian Lara, maybe I'll blog about it sometime, but you may be the only one to have a clue who he is! lol!!
LOL
That is a great post! But I don't see any reflection in that pig's eye....
LOL @ Pouty.
That little ham is the cutest pink plastic porker I've seen!
What Hilary said so well! Ditto.
He appears to be wearing a rubber band, is that some sort of gang thing?
What would you say to a real live male chauvinist pig?
I love how your photographs capture the unexpected in very ordinary object.
Cute picture, David! Maybe we should fix him up with the Piggy BBQ grill I saw last weekend that had eyelashes! ;-)
Sheila
cute piggy. :) come on by and check out my cows. :) I did have to do some post processing on them...but I was glad to salvage them.
What a fun photo, love your little piggy.
Great post! The only way to shoot a pig.
Hi!
Cute piggy bank!! Great shot!! Have a great day!!
Sherrie
LOL, you couldn't have shot him in a more humane way if you'd tried. You're very welcome to visit my entries, here and/or here.
Hope you're having a great weekend!
Good One!
I hope after you shot him, you dropped a penny into his slot
Found you over at Carolina's blog - I had to come over to check if you'd posted about the fires! (I live in NSW.)
Anyway, for this post I'd like to say...
I love this kind of take on the Camera Critters theme! It's surprising, yet interesting when someone chooses to post an inanimate object. I've only been doing cc for 5 weeks - and most posts I've seen are "actual" animals. Just shows Aussies have great humor ;)
"I reached for my camera and shot him - in the most humane way." is a very funny description!
Made me lol- shot him in the most humane way.
