Emission Impossible

The humble office laser printer can damage lungs in much the same way as smoke particles from cigarettes, a team of Australian scientists has found. According to a BBC report by Nick Bryant, an investigation of a range of printer models showed that almost a third emit potentially dangerous levels of toner into the air. Scientists at the Queensland University of Technology have called on ministers to regulate these kinds of emissions. They say some printers should come with a health warning. The researchers carried out tests on more than 60 machines.

Sheesh - that's terrible. I work in a small office that has a printer in there... I'm going to check that list.

Wow! This is something that everyone should know.

I'm heading to the machine right now to make 100 copies of this so that I can distribute them to ... oh ... but then I'd be exposing myself to ...

Hmmmm ... my head hurts. Where's the Advil?

Lord only knows what all contaminants we are inhaling, digesting & absorbing in our ever-changing world.

Too much of anything...anything! is not a good thing.

Hi Keshi,

Yep, I was expecting a reaction from you!

Lovely to see you here. It was on all the news bulletins in Melbourne, too.

G'day Dan,

Yes, we do become very blase about these things, don't we?

One Advil coming right up, with a glass of frosty cold water.

And move right away from the printer ....

Will post the Ray article in the next 24 hours.

G'day SLB,

Anything? You're not including chocolate mud cake in that list, are you?

Please tell me you're not!
