Nuts In May, Er, June
A nutty dog in Nottinghamshire had to be rescued by a tree surgeon after getting stuck for five hours on a branch 50ft up chasing squirrels. Bruce the terrier was left trapped for around five hours before being reunited with his owners. RSPCA inspector Tina McAdams says the incident was a first for her.

I hope police charged the squirrel with reckless endangerment for heedlessly engaging in such an imminently dangerous chase with the dog! ;-)
A dog up a tree? Where do you find these things?
And no pictures?? Surely in 5 hours somebody thought to get the camera out!
lost in the chase, he probably never realised the danger he was heading into. where do you find such wonderful things?
There's a career out there called tree surgeon? Never heard of such a thing.
Wow! Must have claws like crampons.
a first for me too... who'd have thought a dog could climb so well. shows you have determination can do.
LOL - that's a stitch!! I wonder what the bill was for that??
Hugs, Sarah
Wow!!! Quite a story!!!! Must be something special about being a terrier...ours used to think he was a cat, as well!!!! ~Janine
lol! Those terriers are serious little fellows! Probably didn't even realize he was in the tree until he way way up there.
Hmmm, very interesting. Never heard of a tree-climbing dog. That's got to be a first. Funny story.
If he's a terrier he probably *jumped* 50 feet rather than climbing....
Hooray! Nottinghamshire gets a mention at the other side of the world. It was probably a neighbour's dog. These things happen around here!
My dog Luckie chases chipmunks and squirrels, but I 've never seen her out on a limb.
That would have been an interesting film clip too.
Thank you for your visit and kind comments the other day. This is funny. My poor retriever just sits there and watches them. They manage to stay just out of her reach. Who knew squirrels were so conniving? :)
never heard of this before??
Amazing story...no bones about it. ;-)
