Verse And Worse

Random Wit, Errant Rhyme. Not A Literary Crime

Physics always gets my vote
Geometry gets me into tangles
Euclid somehow gets my goat
But you gotta admire acute angles

I'd like to say a very heartfelt thank you to all of you, as I am now more than halfway to a quarter of a million page views. This week I clocked up my 130,000th page view as well as my 80,000th hit.

And a big vote of thanks to San Merideth for her amazing tribute titled The Physics of Encouragement, which is such a big validation of how I interact with my fellow bloggers, writers and photographers.

Also, a big wave to blog friends who have their own nicknames for me - Daryl who calls me Den Mom; Sandi McBride who calls me Deano, as in Dean Martin and Blog Princess G who calls me Ace Boy Photographer. Most of all, thank you to the gentle, thoughtful teenager who wrote the first-ever comment on my blog. I've never forgotten your kindness ....

Okay, now you're gonna make me cry! Believe it or not I went to Amazon to see if I can find Vegemite Vindaloo...I'd like a copy signed by the author...might start a mail back and forth thing here...

Oh, I forgot, the book, which apparently garnered 5 stars, costs 294 rupees...could you break that down into dollars and cents for me?
Thanks, Deano

I've been calling you Davey Mac.
But not to your face, 'cause we've never met.
Have we, Davey Mac?

Congratulations David!
I felt very happy when I hit the 1000th mark so this must be tremendous feeling indeed. Mind boggling figure! I am happy for you. :)

Your poetry makes me smile.
I want to say that your photos are always such works of art; I enjoy them tremendously!

The one in a previous post of the River Boat is exceptionally eye catching,,looks like a wonderful impressionist oil painting.

And here I got excited when I hit 300!

I bow to the great McMahon (with a name like that, you GOTTA have an ancestor that ran around in a kilt!).

Congrats!

Ah David! You are way too modest! Stand up and take not one but many bows for all you do - great photographs, excellent posts, lots of tips and instructions, and plenty of wry humor and wit! No one can do the puns like you nor the witty poems you post daily too! I am truly in awe of your many talents and how graciously you receive all the rest of the blogging community into your fold. No one deserves these accolades more than you do!

Hi David! I popped over to San's post and I must say, every word was true. I didn't want you to miss it, so here's the comment I left over there:

"Excellent post San. Very soon after I began blogging, David acknowledged one of my posts. I was walking on Cloud 9 for a week. Just as you said, I was so unsure of what I was doing. His encouragement gave me the confidence to continue and told me that perhaps I was on the right track.

Wonderful of you to pay tribute to him. He's an amazing asset to the blogging world. Three cheers for David! Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray!"

Thanks for all your endless enthusiasm and encouragement David. Big hugs from me all the way "up here" in Canada!

And every word is true! We all know it, it just took San to express it so masterfully.

Sandi, when I looked at Amazon I found VV for something like $57. Borders can get it for $30. My son the bookseller found me a source for about $12 including shipping from India. I haven't ordered yet. But it would not be autographed, which would be mightily wonderful.

When will the new one be out, David? And who is publishing this time?

Hi David,

Thanks for you kind comment. My son who's coming over was actually in Melbourne a week or so ago - apparently it was cold. He'd forgotton it was going into winter and when he packed was only thinking about the aussi soaps where the sun always shines :-D

I loved your candy pics too - were you born in India; I was born in Pakistan but moved to the Uk before schooling

Congrats to man
Who is king of the Net!
He is kind to all
Though we've never met!
Encouraging those
Who are timid & shy,
Who're just starting to write
And wondering why.

The honour & fame
He really has earned.
Through his hard work & care
And all that he's learned...
He has used to help others
Who are hoping to write
And he gives them strength
As they write in the night!

Many thanks for all you do David, and for the wonderful way you look for the best in every one you meet, making them feel they are worth something!
Not many can do that. It is a special gift!

Thanks for popping by my little old blog. I've seen your name all over but you know what it's like getting time to visit everyone you see who's commented on your favourite blogs.

Terrific blog and very interesting. I had a look back at your older posts and the Quebec murial was completely fascinating with your commentary and clever photography. Thanks for a very enjoyable scoot through your blog.

Whistling noisily from his throat
Constantly he ogled at her angles
And when he dared write her a note
Her hubby came over for the wrangles

Congratulations David. :)

You deserve every bit of recognition and congrats on the pageloads and the hits. San just was better able than most to express how we feel.

In our house (yes - everyone knows you now!) you are David Mac or "the Aussie" or "the one who does decent photos" or "multi talented blogite"! lol

I so hope the teenager who left the first comment still visits and sees what an asset you are to this blog world, and how you encourage and support. Between you and Fletch, you should bottle this and patent it. The two of you are an absolute Team with a capital T in my book.

Long may it continue.
Bless you (both).

Yes congratulations David!! I'm just off to read San's post now.

I second what everyone else has said - you kindly encouraged me to blog on and I've met lots of nice people through your site. Thanks and well done you :)
