Please answer today's question on your own blog, any time until next weekend. Just link to this blog (or to this post) so I can follow the progress of the discussion.

The question is: Has anyone ever under-estimated your ability?

Can't do it my blogs. Answer ... Not a clue as I have no interest in people's opinion of me. I am I, that's all there is. Take me as I am and I take you as you are.

unfortunately all the time. but here's one example that i can remember: i was taking one of my english requirements in college. at the end of the year our instructor (who was male) had individual talks with us to discuss our grades. he called us up one at a time. when it was my turn he said to me, "When I first saw you I thought you were an airhead. I didn't think you knew anything, but I can tell by your writing that you're really good." When he called me an airhead i just laughed and said, 'gee, thx' LOL i happened to get an A in that class.

people take one look at me and think i'm incapable of doing nothing...i don't know if i look weak, ditzy, young, etc. as far as that class went, there were times where i'm sure i didn't look like i was paying attention and talking to everyone didn't help my cause...but just like i told my son one day when i asked him if he wanted to go to a concert of a group he liked (and didn't think i knew he liked them), 'just because it doesn't LOOK like i'm paying attention, doesn't mean that i'm not.'

I used to be my own worst enemy on that front, had very little faith in myself. I do have it now, but so wish I had discovered it years before I finally did.

Putting mine up as soon as Wordpress decides to start functioning. In the meantime I may just write it in MS Word before I forget what I want to write.
