Felines, Nothing More Than Felines
A cartoon character is to become a goodwill tourism ambassador for Japan. Hello Kitty, the world-famous figure, appears on more than 50,000 products and will promote Japan in China and Hong Kong. In March, the Japanese foreign ministry appointed cartoon robo-cat Doraemon as a charm ambassador.

David ~ Interesting! Doraemon? What is the derivation of that name? I'm sure it has significance… somewhere? ~ jb///
My grand daughters just LOVE "Hello Kitty"!
Robotic kitties might not eat me out of house and home, but I'm sure the little well baby has more charm in her little right paw than does anything called Doraemon...

That's the cat's pajamas. (I must be getting old to know what that means.)
In addition to felines- I have found that the Asains like "happy rainbows" I used to live in southern California, where there were quite a few Chinese restraunts, and they all had happy rainbow names, "happy family restraunt" , "Happy wok" "new happy family food" "happy house" "happy panda chinese food" "rainbow noodle" (these are actual names of real restraunts- all within 5 miles of my house)
I'm 30-something and I still love Hello Kitty
I'm 52, and prefer Sylvester, with Garfield being a close second.
Oh, and legendary baseball announcer Red Barber, used the phrase "catbird seat," meaning a batter had an advantage, maybe a three ball and no strike count.
It is said that Barber got the phrase from the James Thurber short story, named "The Catbird Seat."
Oh man... I so thought this post was going to end with 'Hello Kitty'...I have no idea who the other one is.
Sounds purr-fect!
