Verse And Worse

Random Wit, Errant Rhyme. Not A Literary Crime

The navy mulled over the submarine
Was it a mistake to paint it green?
The admiral hated the shade and the sheen
So he was the first to vent his spleen

I called a meeting of the entire crew
We decided to paint the entire ship blue
As all our friends came to wish us adieu
A blue kangaroo from the zoo said thank you

Blue. Tis blue the Captain does dread.

He called secret meeting though it may cost him his head.

It was decided after the Admiral went to bed,

The vessel must be painted a nice shade of red.

That was fun even if it's terrible.

"Twas a mistake to paint it the vessel green,"
The admiral started to bellow.
"It wasn't the colour twas meant to have been...
For the song said it was YELLOW!"

I don't want to rant, or bluster or bellow'
But according to Ringo it should have been yellow.
So bung on some red, and turn this thing Orange
'Cos it is impossible to rhyme.

The Admiral was but a silly fellow
a submarine should be a bright shade of YELLOW !
(As indeed Maggie May
mentioned earlier today.)
