This Ain’t Downing Street, Guv
So you want to live next to Tony and Cherie? Former British PM Tony Blair's new neighbours are miffed - over a plan to give him his own double yellow lines on the street. Blair has already faced complaints over security, a planned roof terrace and solar panels, but now a letter to his Connaught Square neighbours in west London asks for their views on a proposal to ban parking along a nine-metre (that's about 27 feet) stretch of road for anyone except Blair. It means two residents' parking bays outside Blair's house would be set aside for his exclusive use.
FOOTNOTE: Sounds like a line call to me.

Hmmm, if I were his neighbour I'd let his tyres down.
Nuh-huh, no way. That is extracting the Michael BIG-TIME! It took me over five years, fighting tooth and nail, to have a dedicated disabled bay outside our door for my son - I would have happily set fire to his car if he'd ever had the gall to call in special privileges on my street..
Here we have an ex-Prime Minister of stature who led Britain for over 10 years, and the fuss is about a couple of parking spots!? He erred in giving in to GWB's eagerness to go into Iraq in the interesy of US-GB relations but was otherwise a great PM. Look where UK's economy (and the Pound's exchange rate) is, relative to the US.
Neighbors will carp naturally but give the man his due.
He WAS the Prime Minister he is just a regular Joe now, like the rest of us he has to deal with life as a common man.
I always said he was evil.... well I didn't, but this is just abuse of ones ex-position
He sounds like an ass. Clinton never did anything like that when he made office space in Harmlem!
Well, ex-Heads of State/Govt should and do have residual privileges. But 'tis human nature to want to pull celebs down to our level...
