This Baker Wasn’t Just Watching His Dough
You think your boss is tough? An Austrian baker who made his staff pay for time spent in the toilet has been forced to end the practice to avoid a court case. The owner of the Eisenstadt bakery recorded toilet visits on a computer and took the value of the bathroom time off their annual holiday bonus. A former employee took the case to the local labour court and the businessman ended the practice before the case was scheduled to go to court today after being told it was illegal.

Hehehehe... LOVE the footnote.
I've had employers who were the exact opposite. You could show up for eight (ten...twelve..) hours and not do a damn thing and they wouldn't question it.
Hello David. I wanted to thank you for visiting and commenting on my blog. I hope you do visit Boston someday, I'm sure you'll enjoy the city.
Cheers!
That sounds a little CRAZY!!
lol
Hello, I love your pictures. Your adive in the 'Finding an agent' post was interesting too, thanks.
I wonder if the boss had issues with employees taking "bathroom" breaks where they'd disappear in the bathroom for several minutes several times a day (without actually needing to use the bathroom). When I was an assistant manager at one store, we had an employee like this. By the end of a given day, his bathroom time was about an hour long. This was on top of two 15 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch. Which means that in an 8 hour day, he was working only 6 hours, but being paid for 7.5 hours. One might say "overactive bladder", but this was a guy who would try and find any reason to get off the sales floor and do nothing. So about 5 hours a week in the bathroom, which was 260 hours a year...which equaled to over $2200 in pay that he spent in the bathroom. That's quite a bit of free money there.
IF this was the case of the baker, I find it rather amusing that a boss actually took action. :)
That one was quite crazy. :)
Sounds like the man was a total control fresk!
Thanks for the laugh on our "neighbour's" behalf, David! I used the link in today's post on my blog. Oh, got to brag, I registered a domain at http://www.drfilomena.com/ now... would you be so kind and redirect your link?
How's the new book coming along?
