Reviving Nemo

A Bit Green Around The Gills

Ginger the goldfish has amazed experts by surviving out of water for up to 21 hours. He was found lying on the floor by owner Barbara Woodward at her home at 7am. She assumed he was dead and, as she could not move the heavy chest, left the pet and went to work. But when she returned at 8pm, Ginger was still alive and flapping.

FOOTNOTE: Teenage mutant Ginger total.

That's fascinating and provides hope for many a child's pet fish. I wonder what scientists will do to determine how this fish survived.

Cheers!

Ovbiously meant for greater things. Hard to believe though.

Since when did a goldfish have a heavy chest?

Hmm...not sure, but think Ginger may be a most lucky fish...who should find a new owner. Maybe she can place an ad?

A-ha! I had a goldfish that jumped out of its tank (about 17 years ago) and it lived behind the sofa for 4 hours. Not quite 21 but still a long time out of water.

That's amazing, indeed. Assuming Ginger has any sort of cognition, can you imagine how she felt upon being discovered the first time, but then having to wait another 13 hours to be put back into water? *shudder*
