Verse And Worse

Random Wit, Errant Rhyme. Not A Literary Crime

Give thanks for the genius of Allen Funt
Who taught us to laugh with each TV stunt
‘Twas never a Bob-error or even a Pam-error
But where would we be without Candid Camera?

Oh this one is funny and brings back memories. My family used to watch that show every week.

Cheers!

As one who likes to write in verse
I think your rhyme could turn out worse,
if errant minds on downward path
used other words to get a laugh...

Just kidding, but it rhymes.

The idea for Allan Funt's T.V. show was spawned in WWII where his job was to get G.I.'s to talk to their families on camera. Most were too shy and would clam up and say very little in front of the camera. He came up with the idea of interviewing them with a hidden camera rolling and he got much better footage. I think that's the rest of the story. Pappy

The candid camera would catch a joke
They'd use the camera to record a gag
Alan Funt was a real good bloke
He started the career of Fannie Flagg

Candid Camera...they tried to make a return trip to the tube
but the hilarity lost much in the translation as the show
proved to crude.
