You Call This The Road To The Altar?
Bachelors in a remote Indian village are building a new road in the fervent hope that it will bring them brides. Barwaan Kala, in west Bihar, is located high in the Kaimur hills and is known locally as the "village of unmarried people". The cause, they say, is the remoteness of the village.

The remoteness of the village? Hmmmm... I have to wonder if it doesn't have something to do with the bachelors themselves. ;-)
Sheila
meanwhile it keeps them busy and out of trouble...
It would be a great subject for a movie (by Mira Nair for instance).
Reminds me of "If you build it they will come." :)
Never take the time to look within- always a great philosophy. Cough, Cough, grin.
Is it a long, dark, winding road? Sure, they say it is the remotenesss.
haha!
Well...makes sense - they're probably related to everyone who lives there in one way or another!
Obviously, no one is beating a path to their door.
Once the road is completed it may not guarantee a sudden influx of ladies. Better for them to seek pastures new where there are plenty of them already and bring them back on a mule. Much cheaper
I hope the road to the Altar is a Project that sees it's result in their lifetime, specially if the village is so remote.
Oh, bless! Here's hoping it works for them.
