Random Wit, Errant Rhyme. Not A Literary Crime

When you pause and reflect on political caucus
You wonder why its members are sometimes so raucous
Despite the business of budgets and bills
Mud-slinging gives them the greatest of thrills

It's what they go into politics for isn't it?

Perhaps if they sold tickets at the door of the House and Senate,(and made them all REALLY do some mud wrestling)...we could pay off the National Debt! LOL

Ideology always trumps consensus it seems. When battle lines are drawn all over the place, everyone always runs to their side and hides.

Numbers are boring, tedious, dull
But "who slept with whom"
Leaves numerical days remarably full
With rumors and prophesies of politicians' doom.

Truer words haven't been spoken
Just as true as promises broken
Slinging mud makes a strange sound
Throwing dirt you only lose ground
