International Orange is the official name of the orange-red paint used on the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and it has always been that colour. There was once a strong push to have it painted black with yellow stripes.
I am rather fond of that colour myself. The official factory name of my Norton when it came out in 1972 was "International Signal Orange". It took awhile for the colour to grow on me (the only unit regionally available at the time) but people from as far away as 3000 miles from my home would recognize that beast on the highway.
GRIN ... and I still have that same Commando although HE is still locked away in the moving trailer. I could not bear to let go of him, even at this impractical point since he introduced me to the vast majority of my most dear and amazing friends and carried me over 85,000 miles of this continent. I also kept a restored Norton P11 which is actually better suited to our new environment.
David, I can barely keep up with the journaling of day to day life here! I can't imagine pounding out a book while living as full a life as you do! You must be far more disciplined and organised than I!

Good morning, David.
I can just imagine the number of bumblebees crashing into the bridge, if they were to do that.

I can't imagine that bridge anything *but* orange!
G'day Brian,
I checked the stats to see how many bees would have crashed into it and the answer is 307 every hour.
Quite a buzz!

G'day Lin,
Love the new picture! I reckon the orange is a great colour.
You have/had a Norton? Gee, can I just put you on a pedestal right here and now!
Keep smiling
David
You're so right, Dawn
Silver wouldn't cut it. And no other colour would be as distinctive!

Hi Lin,
That sounds like an amazing experience. 85,000 miles - I reckon there's a novel or a travel book in that experience ...
Over to you!
Keep smiling
David
