Imagine, There's No Heaven
A Romanian convict's legal action against God has failed, because prosecutors said they could not find God's address. Pavel Mircea, from Timisoara, who is serving a 20-year sentence for murder, launched legal action against God two years ago. In his legal claim he stated: "God and I closed a contract when I was baptised and God did not respect his part of the deal. He was supposed to protect me from all evils and instead he gave me to Satan who encouraged me to kill." He demanded financial compensation as well, but prosecutors solemnly said: "We could not find God's address. He has no home address."

what the!! this is too good... amazing!!
Had to laugh at this one.
people dont like to thank God for the good he does . . . but are quick to file a law suit against him when they get slammed for 20.
Hi Merisis,
A bit like the Billy Connolly movie `The Man Who Sued God'!

Hi Sam,
Glad you liked it. It made me chuckle, so I simply had to share it!

Hi Ak-Man,
You got it in one. That is so perceptive.
Says more about us as the human race, rather than just one person.
You are so right.

ak-man, David,
Don't get me started on accountability - there is none these days and this story sums it up in one.
Cheers!
Everyone knows Gods address, he lives in our heart, doesn't he??
God you've got a good following, man!
Well done! Hope you are well! We're sweatin' it out in Malaysia. What a buzz.
Talk soon,
nanc
I feel we're missing the best (or most sensational) part of the story - who, what, and how often did this man kill?
And is he going to sue santa for the stigma being on the naughty list caused him? Gotta be some mental anguish there.
Last I saw God, he was playing basketball for Providence University in Rhode Island.
God Shammgod was his name, he tried to make the NBA but ended up bouncing around some minor leagues about 5 years ago, I believe.
Perhaps the fine courts of Romania could look him up that way.
I read it in disbelief. Then I got it. And I'm still laughing.
I remember an old b/w film with Edmund Gwynn playing God and how he just disappeared from a court room. Still laughing.
Question: Everyone's pic showed up in the comments section save "sam".
Why not his, David? Not even a right click "show picture" could bring it up.
How big an estate would be required for the One for whom it is said, "the clouds are the dust of His feet?" Nahum 1:3b Yeah, omnipresence sounds like an insurmountable challenge for realtors and architects.
I feel badly for the loved ones victimized by a murderer. But I also can't help feeling badly for the killer himself, as well as all those who don't know and love God.
Hi Steph,
You're spot-on. This story says so much about as as a human race.

Hi Carol,
That was my belief as a child and nothing has ever shaken that notion.
Address? Who needs an address?

Nanc! Lovely to hear from you,
Have been following your adventures all over the place. Looks like the girls had a wonderful time and I'm sure Doog did as well.
Stay safe on your travels and do keep in touch.

Hi Victorya,
I believe he has already sued Santa. As we all know, he has a ``deliverable'' address!

Hi Brian,
What a wonderful perspective. You made me smile with that one.
What an unforgettable name.
Thanks for sharing that vignette with us.

Hi Catmoves,
I was also reminded of the George Burns comedy `Oh God' in the late Seventies.
Have been meaning to tell Sam - I think his original pic file is corrupted or improperly over-ridden.

Hi Craver,
You certainly know The Good Book. I was fortunate to have a mother who was a Sunday School teacher.
Keep smiling
