Chord Napping

Don't Fret If You Can't Identify This Object

Photographs copyright: DAVID McMAHON

So, can you guess what I've photographed here? Is it an ancient piece of Aztec civilisation? No, it's a very common object. If you're thinking that the grain suggests wood, you're on the right track.

They're here, there and everywhere. Or maybe that should be "hear, there and everywhere". They're sound investments - literally. But you knew that already, didn't you?

I'll end the post now - while my guitar gently weeps.

The wood looks beautiful in these shots. Great job!

And you just reminded me how much I want to learn to play the guitar.

You find art in everything, David. Beautiful.

I played the guitar long enough to get both my boys to play! Now I enjoy it through them!

My late father played guitar, so I DID get it. Thanks.

David, you have such a brilliant mind, coming up with such catchy comments to accompany your photos! I recognised a guitar immediately, and you've done an incredible job of making a simple object into a work of art. :)

Of course I recognized a guitar. This one looks classical. The color is similar to my Ventura. After your comment about the Hari Krishna chant I was wondering what types of music appealed to you.

Cheers!

I see folk acoustics all the time. That looks like a classical.

I love the look of fine wood products. Is that your guitar? Do you play?

Beautiful shots - got it straight away. Handsome instrument. Is it yours? Do you play? Looks classic.
I tried playing at one time and got a tune out of one. Alas the strings hurt my (now arthritic) fingers and I forgot more than I learned about chords! Give me a keyboard or piano anyday... ;0)

Stunning, crisp photos, David! We have two guitar players in our house (my oldest boys). =)

Amazing that you should stop by my blog today, as I had a little "story" this morning that reminded me of what I read on your blog: Everyone in town received a free copy of the local newspaper delivered to their door this morning (we were not forewarned). Rather than thinking we all received a free gift (which we did), everyone went to their neighbor's houses asking if they got their paper in error! So I guess the plot of the publisher trying to get new subscribers actually turned into a "meet your neighbor day"! =)

Love it! I play and yet you you got me. You used one of the song lines I have always found so perfectly written.

Your blog bio is very interesting. i will visit again. Thanks for stopping by!

I have one of those things gathering dust over here in the corner...guess I should get it out more often.

I guessed it was a guitar, not that I play one, but I've always admired their beauty and workmanship. Nice photos!

I love guitars. My husband has quite a collection, including a handmade Seagull guitar that I gave him one year on his birthday.

Peace - D
