Human Error

What An Expensive Typo

A Swedish couple in search of the isle of Capri instead drove 650 kilometres (400 miles) to Carpi, an industrial town in northern Italy, because they misspelt the name in their car's GPS. Italian officials say the couple asked at Carpi's tourist office where they could find Capri's famous Blue Grotto.

FOOTNOTE: Isle try again.

Maybe GPS systems should have Spell Check...

It might be that those people are dyslexic...

My husband bought a GPS device recently, and she (we chose a soothing female voice) sent us on a rather wonky route when we were looking at houses. We had the brains to draw the line at a dirt road that headed up the side of a steep mountain. I'm afraid the people in the story were a little daft?

Seeing travelers every day I find it interesting how many of them mindlessly rely on thier GPS systems. They will regale me with horror stories of being lost....yet they continue to rely on it.
