Verse And Worse

Random Wit, Errant Rhyme. Not A Literary Crime

Did you hear the sad saga of Martin Hopper
Who stuffed his mouth with a huge gobstopper
He could not mumble, he could not speak
All that emerged was a frightful squeak

I learned a new word on this post, I did not know a gobstopper is a jawbreaker.

And when his sweet has got real small
He needs a filling, big as a ball.
Gobstoppers take so long you see
And his teeth have got so sti-i-cky!

But oh so happy was Martin's wife.
She got a word in edgewise for once in her life.
A sad thing for Martin, who only could squeak.
But his wife will tell you, "It ain't so bleak!"

Oh, we used to pine for those giant gobstoppers when we were kids...and my dad placated us because yes, you couldnt speak.

I think he ate a potion
that make him become a duck
but he did not notice
cause there was no water
neither to swim not to watch

I heard it was a grasshopper
and boy was it a whopper
that big green lump
sure made Martin jump.
