Cementing His Reuptation

Honey, I’m (Really) Stuck On The Autobahn

German police had to rescue a driver after he moved out of the way to allow a police car with flashing lights to pass, and got stuck in setting concrete. Hans-Peter Wagner, 62, was driving on the A1 motorway near Ratekau in northern Germany when he saw police flashing to get past him in his rear view mirror. He instantly made way and pulled over but went straight into a stretch of road that had just been freshly concreted. His car was later pulled out of the concrete by traffic cops. To see the photograph, go to Ananova.

Oh, that poor man - imagine explaining that on the insurance claim form!

It didn't look like there was any other place for the man to pull over. Poor guy!

That's a Vauxhall Astra,

But it's also known as Opel Astra.

I wanted to get that car before . . . minus the concrete of course.

Wow. Looks like something I might have done! Sometimes things like wet cement and missing bridges just catch a guy by surprise, ya know?

Hehe! Anyone whos been here and driven the autobahns or any german road for that matter knows that there really is no room for error or to pull over! That's why there are sooo many stau's (or traffic jams) because an accident clogs up the autobahn for hours at a time. :-) Very funny story though.
