Duck Season

Glasgow Takes A Shine To Scrooge

Scrooge McDuck has been honoured as one of Glasgow's most famous residents. The city council has included the famously cashed-up Disney cartoon character on a list of Glasgow's great and good. Research found that the cantankerous multi-millionaire duck began as a shoeshine boy in the city before leaving for the US to make his fortune. McDuck, Donald Duck's uncle, first appeared in Disney comics in 1947. He was recently added to a list of famous Glaswegians on Glasgow City Council's website.

Kinda ironic, ain't it? We "up-here" don't even enjoy our own "fruits", like this character, anymore! And we've outlawed Bugs Bunny, because he and his group were too violent, was warping the young minds of our children. So, we fill the kids with Yu-Gi-Oh!, instead.

I dunno---YOU tell ME what the real definition of "warped" is! I've already given up....!

My grandmother used to get mad at me for referring to my uncle (her son) as "Unca" (as Huey, Dewey, and Louie used to refer to THEIR uncle....)

Oh, I haven't thought of Scrooge McDuck in a while. Neat. Thanks.

And thanks for visiting my blog on theme day. I do appreciate it.

Scotland holds Aberdonians up as the tightest, meanest folk around when it comes to money - no fair! (I'm a generous soul at heart..)

I think old unck Scrooge is very misunderstood (smile)..

Congratulations to Uncle Scrooge. Despite occasional bouts with excessive greed, he was a pretty good guy, er, duck, all around.
