Not My Space

For Goodness Fake

A beauty queen has asked MySpace to take down a fake page that she says makes her sound ``thick'' and ``tarty''. Miss England, Georgia Horsley, of North Yorkshire, wants MySpace to take down the bogus profile which claims she does not read and lists Katie Price, aka Jordan, as her hero. She came across the page after Googling her name and finding what appeared to be a link to her MySpace account.

FOOTNOTE: Don't upset the other queen of England.

I am not a great fan of beauty pagents, but fake profiles mocked up and posted on-line must cause the recipients no end of pain. You don't need to be famous or rich for this to happen, and it can destroy reputations, and even someones life.

It's sad how human decency goes out the window when it comes to celebrities. It's okay to slander and malign as long as the person is rich and famous? Hmm...some sort of flaw in the logic there.

I better go Google myself and make sure I don't have a fake MySpace page out there! The real one is bad enough. I can't believe I actually broke down and got a MySpace.
